iNOS (murine macrophage) Antisense Probe Template

iNOS catalyzes the formation of NO from L-arginine in many cell types including macrophages, liver, smooth muscle, and islets of Langerhans. Expression of iNOS is enhanced by LPS and proinflammatory cytokines including IL-1β, and IFN. IFNγ-stimulated iNOS expression can be attenuated by dexamethasone. This probe template can be used to generate a 399 bp antisense murine iNOS probe that will anneal with native murine iNOS mRNA and can be detected by RNase protection assay, in situ hybridization, and Northern blot analysis. This antisense probe is 84.8% and 69.0% homologous to the corresponding rat and human sequences, respectively.
