Each additional expansion beyond passage 2 will result in an additional 4–6-fold increase in the total number of floor plate cells without compromising the quality of TH neurons (positive for both TH and FOXA2). Further expansion (up to passage 10) results in stable expansion of
Progen
itor cells, but the resulting TH neurons may show decreased FOXA2 expression.
