Accutase? is our recommended enzyme for cell detachment and passaging due to its gentle action, and the fact that no separate reagent is required to stop the reaction (simply dilute, then centrifuge).

It can be used as a direct replacement for trypsin solution, an agressive enzyme that is demanding to use due to the very small window between effective detachment and overdigestion.

Accutase is used both during isolation, and also for the routine detachment of cells from standard tissue culture plastic ware and adhesion coated plastic ware, and has been proven effective in detaching: fibroblasts, epithelial cells and a whole range of other cell types.

Cell Detachment Solution
Accutase? is a ready-to-use cell detachment solution, that contains proteoloytic and collagenolytic enzymes. If is of invertebrate origin (crabs), and is free of mammalian and bacterial derived proteins. Accutase can serve as a direct replacement for trypsin.

Storage / Shelf life
Store at -20°C. See label for expiry date. Once thawed Accutase can be stored for two months at 4°C. Accutase begins to inactivate as temperature increases.? Thaw at 4°C, and avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.? For passaging, pre-warm only the amount necessary to room temperature just prior to use.
Thawing
Thaw at 4°C. Do not thaw in warm water bath. Loss of enzymatic activity may occur at temperatures above 20°C.
Quality control
Tested for sterility, pH 6.8 to 7.8.
