Description:
Human Dermal Fibroblasts isolated from a patient clinically diagnosed with Astrocytoma. For maximal recovery and growth, use our optimized human fibroblast plating & growth medium.

Astrocytoma

Astrocytomas are cancers of the brain that emanate from astrocytes. Originating from an immortalised astrocyte, the resultant glioma can occur in different parts of the brain and the central nervous system, including the spinal cord.

The Dermal Fibroblasts supplied have been cultured from a skin explant taken from a single patient that has been clinically diagnosed with astrocytoma. These cells can be re

ly cultured in their current state or reprogrammed to induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) and derived to astrocytes or other cell types.

All of the cells provided are tested and are negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C as detected by PCR.

The cells are confirmed to be negative for mycoplasma and other detectable microbial contamination.
