Human Dermal Fibroblasts isolated from a patient clinically diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disease resulting in muscular degeneration due to a mutation to the gene that produces Dystrophin. It affects approximately 1 in 3,500 male births. The progressive weakening of muscles can cause severe cardiovascular and respiratory issues that limit life expectency to the mid twenties.

ly be reprogrammed to induced pluripotent stem cells and differentiated into a range of cells types in your laboratory.
