Description
Mellitus Blue C? is the convenient control compound for Mellitus Blue probes 1-3?. With the same chromophore fluorescent backbone, but does not chelate dissolved glucose, Mellitus Blue C? serves as an ideal control compound for all 3 of the Mellitus Blue? probes. Mellitus Blue C? does not show any response to glucose, fructose or other diols. Similar to the parent probe molecules, Mellitus Blue C? can re

ly be excited from 300-400 nm, with an emission centred at ≈ 460 nm in the blue region of the vis

Mellitus Blue C? is sold dry and is simply reconstituted by adding water/MeOH. One vial of our probe will typically allow for 10 control-like measurements to be undertaken, when further diluted into 3 cm

volumes within a cuvette. 50 ?L of water/MeOH and/or buffer is typically added to each dry vial. Subsequently, 5 ?L aliquots diluted to 3 cm
3
, typically give an optimum OD of ≈0.25.
For optimum performance, probe vials should be stored at -2 to -8 C when not being used. Probe solutions should be used after dilution.
